Mellinger Receives St. John's Recognition

SIU would like to congratulate department of Surgery's Dr. John Mellinger on being selected as a HSHS St. John's Hospital Physican of the Year . This award honors a physician who consistently reflects the hospital's core values - respect, care, competence and joy. Nominations came from members of the medical staff. Simmons Cancer Institute to Provide Free Oral Cancer Screenings

SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS – Head and neck cancer can be a devastating diagnosis, but if found at an early stage, there is an 80 percent survival rate, according to the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance.
