Nicole Sommer, MD

Dr. Nicole Sommer is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at SIU, the current Director of the SIU Cosmetic Clinic and a Professor of Plastic Surgery. She has been a member of the faculty in the Institute for Plastic Surgery for nearly 22 years. Dr. Sommer earned her medical degree and completed her residency at SIU School of Medicine. She completed a Fellowship in Breast Reconstruction and Aesthetic Surgery at Nashville Plastic Surgery in Nashville, TN. Dr. Sommer is active in raising awareness for breast reconstruction, and has been an advocate for patients to understand their breast reconstruction options following a cancer diagnosis. She was voted the Best Cosmetic Surgeon in Springfield by the Illinois Times for the last 4 years in a row.
