Overview
Internal medicine, or general internal medicine, is the medical specialty focused on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of internal diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are also called internists who provide primary care to patients throughout central and southern Illinois at SIU Medicine.

Our general internal medicine doctors diagnose and treat a wide range of health conditions. Your health is
their primary focus, they will coordinate you care and serve as your advocate on your journey to better health,
including referring you to specialists or community resources.
Walk-ins welcome at the SIU Medicine Salvation Army Clinic until 11 a.m.
