Overview
The SIU Medicine Survivor Recovery Center (SRC) provides evidence-based, trauma-informed care for individuals affected by interpersonal violence. Through treatment, advocacy and education, we aim to support healing, recovery and connection.
For those who have experienced violence, we understand how the emotional impact can affect your life and the lives of your loved ones. Our caring team is eager to work with you at our center, in your home, or out in the community. We strive to create a culture of compassion, hope and respect that empowers our team to create meaningful changes.

Services
The SRC operates two branches for survivors of trauma: the Trauma Recover Center and the Safe from the Start clinic. If you are seeking services for a client, yourself, or a loved one, please call 217.545.7815 for a staff member to screen you for best fit.
Criteria
- Reside in Sangamon County
- Survivor of crime within past 3 years (no limitations for children under age 5)
- Domestic violence (physical, emotional, financial)
- Sexual assault and other physical assaults
- Gang related or community violence
- Human or labor trafficking
- Kidnapping, stalking or harassment
- Robbery, mugging, and/or burglary
- Criminal motor vehicle accident (hit and run or DUI)
- Lost a loved one to homicide
