    About me

    Dr. Mantovani is Assistant Professor in the Division of Neurosurgery. She is also the Associate Program Director for the Neurosurgery Residency Program.

    Dr. Mantovani completed her residency in neurosurgery both in Italy, at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and in the US at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.

    She also completed a research fellowship in Cerebrovascular Disease and Skull Base Neurosurgery at the University of Washington in Seattle, two clinical fellowships in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at the University of Florida and at Stanford University, and a fellowship in Pediatric Cerebrovascular Disease at Boston Children’s Hospital-Harvard Medical School.

    Dr. Mantovani treats patients with a range of neurosurgical disorders. Her practice focuses on deep brain stimulation for the treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson's Disease, tremor, and dystonia, as well as for epilepsy, and psychiatric disease; epilepsy surgery; neuromodulation; and brain mapping for brain tumors and epilepsy.

    Dr. Mantovani’s research interests include cerebral cortical physiology and movement decoding for brain-computer interfaces; functional localization using intraoperative and extraoperative brain mapping; clinical trials for improving and expanding the use of neuromodulation.
