Support available for Chatham community

Published Date:

SIU School of Medicine Dean and Provost and CEO of SIU Medicine, Jerry Kruse commented on the devastating tragedy that struck our community Monday evening in Chatham.

"This horrific event has both directly and indirectly impacted the SIU Medicine community.  Our thoughts are with the families who have suffered unimaginable loss, the children and the staff members who are impacted, and the first responders who rushed to help," Dr. Kruse said.

As a medical school and a community of healers, we stand ready to provide support, counseling, and care to all those affected.

"In this time of profound grief, we remain committed to offer compassion, comfort, and resources to aid in healing the families, friends, and Chatham community," Dr. Kruse added.
