    Dr. Laura B. Vargas is an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at SIU School of Medicine, specializing in neonatal-perinatal medicine. She completed a master’s degree in clinical research methods and a three-year neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. She completed a pediatric residency, including a year as chief resident, at SIU School of Medicine in Springfield, IL, and her medical degree at National University of Colombia in Bogota, Colombia. Vargas is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the U.S.-Columbian Medical Association.
