    About me

I have known that I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field since childhood. As a teenager, I had a personal experience with a close family member that was very inspiring to me, ultimately guiding me toward a career in nursing. I obtained my BSN from Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University and worked as a RN in ICU and Cardiac specialties at Springfield Memorial Hospital. I decided to further my education, obtaining my MSN, AG-ACNP specialty from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 2020. I have spent the last four years in the medical and cardiovascular ICUs as a critical care APRN. I have been able to expand my skillset in this role, treating the most complex cases while also focusing on providing support and guidance for patients and families during their most vulnerable time. I am looking forward to continuing in this role as part of the Cardiothoracic Surgery team at SIU.
