Jamie Purdy, AuD, CCC-A
About me
Dr. Jamie Purdy is a licensed audiologist, specializing in diagnostic testing and hearing aid fitting for both children and adults. She also provides educational audiology services for Springfield Public Schools.
Originally from Wheaton, Illinois, Dr. Purdy earned her bachelor's degree in communication disorders from Northern Illinois University and her doctorate in audiology from the University of Illinois. She previously served as a clinical audiologist at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Dr. Purdy’s interest in audiology began at a young age, shaped by summers spent at camp where she was introduced to sign language and children with disabilities. These early experiences left a lasting impression that sparked a determination to pursue a career that supports communication, connection and care. That exposure didn’t just influence her, it defined her professional path.
Dr. Purdy has been serving the patients of SIU since 2017. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and the Illinois Academy of Audiology. Outside of work, she enjoys dance fitness classes and line dancing!
