Emily Fendrich, PA-C

Emily Fendrich is a physician assistant in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. She completed her undergraduate studies at Bradley University before continuing to further her education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she graduated with a Masters in Physician Assistant studies.  Emily is a Springfield native and enjoyed growing up in central Illinois. She decided to return to Springfield following graduation to be closer to family. 

Emily’s main focus will be on lung cancer screening. In the United States, lung cancer screening rates remain stubbornly low. Less than 20% of eligible individuals nationwide undergo screening. Emily’s goal is to increase the number of patients who take advantage of lung cancer screening that is often covered by insurance. When caught early, lung cancer prognosis improves and it typically responds better to treatment.
