Overview

Muscular weakness is a primary symptom for a range of musculoskeletal diseases and conditions. There are two main categories of muscular weakness: true muscle weakness, in which the force exerted by a patient's muscles is less that what would normally be expected; and perceived muscle weakness, in which the patient feels more effort is required, but the actual muscle strength remains unchanged. Treatment options vary based on the underlying cause.
