About National Doctors' Day

Every year on March 30, National Doctors' Day honors those dedicated to caring for patients in the community.

The day honors the professionals for their dedication and contributions to society and the community. The first Doctors' Day was observance in 1933 in Winder, Ga. This included mailing greeting cards and placing flowers on the graves of deceased doctors. The U.S. House of Representatives adopted a resolution in 1958, commemorating Doctors' Day. It became National Doctors' Day in 1990 when President George Bush signed it into law.
