The pituitary gland is a pea-sized body attached to the base of the brain. Disorders affecting this gland can lead to conditions impacting many parts of the body. These conditions include acromegaly, Cushing's syndrome, hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), and hypogonadism (low sex hormone levels).
