People experience illness physically, emotionally and spiritually, and each one influences the other. This no cost program provides patients, families, caregivers, and health care providers, with holistic, therapeutic and creative outlets for healing.
Classes and programs are held in-person (starting March 1, 2023) and virtually. Cancer patients, survivors and/or caregivers can attend classes at no cost, regardless of where they are receiving treatment.
Monday and Wednesday classes
Pilates 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Pilates emphasizes maintaining the natural spinal curves while strengthening the core muscles and teaching students proper stabilization and alignment of all joints. Students must be comfortable getting up and down from the floor.
Yoga 10:15 AM - 11:30 AM
Learn postures, breathing exercises, and meditation.
Gentle Yoga 11:45 AM - 12:45 AM
This yoga class is ideal for the less mobile individual. It adapts many classic yoga postures to the seated position.
Tuesday and Thursday classes
Qi Gong 9:45 AM - 10:30 AM
Physical postures, breathing techniques, and mental focus are used to improve physical and emotional health. The positions can be done while seated and are good for individuals who are less mobile.
Fitness For You 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM
Fitness is an exercise class to help maximize health for the long term. Exercise has been shown to improve mood, boost self-confidence and reduce fatigue.
Tai Chi 11:45 AM - 12:30 PM
Gentle, flowing movements are used to perform a series of postures coordinated with breathing to achieve an inner sense of calm.
