    About me

    Dr. Frances T. Lee is a board-certified general and endocrine surgeon in the Department of General Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Her professional interests and expertise include the surgical treatment of endocrine diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands.

    Dr. Lee is a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES). After completing her general surgery training at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center, she completed an AAES-accredited fellowship in endocrine surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

    Dr. Lee strives to provide high-quality, evidence-based, surgical care to patients of Springfield and central Illinois. She is highly trained in minimally invasive and advanced surgical endocrine techniques, including transoral thyroidectomy, minimally invasive parathyroidectomy, intraoperative nerve and PTH monitoring, ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy, and minimally invasive adrenalectomy. Additionally, she is passionate about medical student and resident education and is active in clinical research.
