Defibrillation

    Overview

    Defibrillation is a common treatment for life-threatening cardiac dysrhythmias and ventricular fibrillation. It consists of delivering a therapeutic dose of electrical current to the heart with a device called a defibrillator, restoring normal heartbeat patterns.
